V treťom diele série Fourth Wing musí Violet vydať za hranice ochranného štítu, aby získala spojencov, armádu a mágiu a odhalila pravdu, ktorá môže rozhodnúť osud Navarry. Recenzentka chváli svet, postavy a drakov, no kritizuje, že je dej pomalý, plný vaty a príliš podobný predchádzajúcemu dielu, s dlhými úsekmi cestovania a málo emotívnymi scénami. Postavy sa vyvíjajú (najmä Xaden a Ridoc), akcia a napätie vrcholia až v závere, ktorý recenzentku pohltil, no napriek tomu jej celkový dojem ostáva rozpačitý. Síce priznáva, že si neodolá štvrtému dielu, tretí ju nenadchol.
